Name: Catatonic Helsing
Code Name: Firewolf
Team(s): Alpha Flight
Age: 24
Sex: Female
Height and Weight: 5'6 135lb
Eyes and Hair Color: Pink - Pinkeh Red
Appearance (Pics are fine):
Personality:
Though she puts on an air of being mature and opinionated, she is still just a girl growing up. Though she keeps to her opinions quite firmly, in the end she is sometimes willing to at least agree verbally in order to fit in, or to avoid conflict. She is energetic, but always tries to put up a front of boredom, thinking that she'll look cooler if she doesn't act worked up about things such as going to the mall, or just hanging out with her friends... two activities she enjoys greatly. Generally, she is not as mature as she would seem (or like to be seen).
Like most any teen, she can be quite petty, vindictive, judgmental, rebellious for no reason, and haughty when right. Beyond that, she's a caring, thoughtful friend. One that looks out for those in her 'fold', but somewhat leery of those she is not acquainted with. She is also quite curious, to the point of being something of a gossip. Though she does not realize it, she often sticks her nose into other's business, unwilling to accept that she just doesn't want to sit still, and that her curious nature pushes her to know what's going on even if it is being nosy.
Cat is exactly what you’d think of as a typical girl; she’s chatty, loves a good laugh and is extremely close to her friends. Instinctively wary and slow to trust, Cat can be easily angered by those who she does not, although if it is something small, she will apologize almost immediately. She’s known to hold long, occasionally painful grudges once seriously provoked (e.g. overhearing something along the lines of "Women are useless"). Once her trust has been gained, she is a lot more easygoing, and she loves a good joke, just so long as it isn't on her.
She’s got a bit of a short temper and is fiercely protective of those she cares about and will do absolutely anything to defend both friends and family. Cat is known to be unpredictable and is not to be underestimated. She is a smart girl, but can be rather impulsive. She rebels against everything she despises and aches to set the world, in her opinion, right and she will go to whatever lengths it takes to get what she wants. Cat is a notorious flirt-if she likes a guy; she won't make a huge secret about it. She's got a bit of an 'acid tongue' which makes her come across as arrogant but she really has a good heart and is extremely caring and friendly. She has the ability to be a bit of a smart alec and possesses a streak of sweetness. Her great communication skills have proven key in the past, and although she has the tendency to run away with her emotions, she is unafraid to stand up for herself and friends ...even if it leads her into more trouble.
Powers:
Cat has the power of pyrokinesis, which enables her to mentally excite the atoms in an object until it spontaneously combusts. By using her powers to ignite the air around her, she can surround herself with an aura of flames that often takes the shape of a wolf of fire. Cat has not yet tested her limits and is not willing to test her limits until she feels comfortable. If Cat channels the fire around her into a downward stream, she is able to take flight but is yet to attempt to fly.
Cat also has low level telepathy, purely the power to resist mental control; she sometimes will use her low level telepathy to make herself appear to humans or mutants as if she is not there.
Abilities:
Cat has the ability to sense someone's presence. Cat doesn't know how it happens, she just gets a gut feeling she isn't alone and will act on that gut feeling.
Weapons/Equipment: none
Weaknesses: Water, the past, Weapon X
History:
Her history is wholly unimpressive, born and raised in normal family with an older brother to guide/torment her through the years. Her mother, American as Apple pie was wooed by a German immigrant, Ademaro Mahtildis. It was not long before Ademaro Mahtildis became Erik Helsing, settling in Laura's Birthplace of Springfield, Illinois (which is not as eventful as The Simpsons would imply). She grew up in the suburbs in a relatively friendly neighborhood, quietly and uneventfully as her parents had planned her to do so. She attended school as any normal kid would, though as the years went by and she became more and more aware of the world in general, she began to turn an eye to the news to find out just what the world was like around her.
Of course, what she saw was shocking at first. Things were not nearly as good as she had thought in the Land of the Free. Crises were springing up all over the place, crime was at a high, and then there were mutants. She had never known what to think when she was younger, as her parents had not exactly exposed her to the existence of such. The elementary school never taught anything about mutants, though the floodgates apparently opened when she hit high school. Suddenly problems in places she hadn't even heard were made apparent. Though when she tried to talk about this to her friends, they simply did not care. It was not an immediate problem to them, so they did not give it too much thought. And mutants? They all reasoned that there were none in Illinois. It was far too boring, and then they'd simply talk about how cool it would be to be one, or know one. Frustrated, she went to the school with her concerns, both of mutant and human concerns. Instead of being able to vent out such worries, they told her that she was too young to worry about such thing in a condescending tone.
While admittedly she knew she could not effect anything going on in the world, that did not change her position on the more prominent (and interesting) 'threat' of mutants. Despite most seeing them as dangerous, she often wondered about the effect they could have on society at large if they coexisted. After all, she barely knew about them now and they had been around since before she was born apparently. Despite having little knowledge, she often brought up questions pertaining to mutants and their effects on society in general, feeling that the rudimentary mention of Magneto (who hasn't heard of him?) was not nearly enough education. Though the teachers found her interest to be refreshing, it was also something of a disruption. Constantly bringing it up claiming it to be an 'important' social matter interfere with the teacher's abilities to instruct. Not to mention that it was also somewhat jarring to have it brought up in a completely irrelevant subjects, like Algebra and Science.
In the past she had used the sport of soccer to take her mind off of such things, learning and playing the sport with her brother up to the day he moved from the house to pursue a scholarship in his sport of choice. Her family have been supportive, if not a bit dissuading when it came to her interest. Though never discouraging her from pursuing knowledge, they have always expressed concern with what pursuing such knowledge could lead her to, even if their fears are more of some mutant 'boogeymen' than anything. Despite her 'odd' interest, she has lead a normal life. Hanging out with friends at the mall, attending school and playing soccer. Cat was captured by Hydra when she was roaming the woods of
Canada and then was trained as a weapon. Still with her memories, Cat had begun to hate mutants, using her powers against them when she felt angry. Cat was soon pushed to join Alpha Flight and finally agreed to join.

When one is twisted and evil, one knows nothing except the howling darkness that calls to her; others may hear a howling moon but one always hears the howling darkness, calling to her, asking her to come closer. A puzzle, whether to go or stay; the darkness attaches itself to her, binding itself; twisting her heart until it is pure evil.
A young girl ran through the forest, dodging branches; rocks and trees. Two wolves chasing her, snapping at her feet; the young girl winced, falling to the ground; her clothes torn.
Soft chuckles came from the wolves, pinning her down. Inhaling her scent, their jaws opened, clamping down on her chest as the young girl screamed; her screams turned to howls, feeling her chest be torn apart by the wolves before they stepped off, allowing the moonlight to touch her chest. The pain was immense as tissue, muscles and bones twisted and turned, rearranging themselves into a wolf order. The young woman nearly passed out from the pain that ripped through her form. No other pain could compare to the transformation. It was excruciating and tiring. It hurt more then she could imagine, but to ignore and fight the change was worse.
Brown fur coated her body; two emerald eyes stared at the wolves that pinned her down. She struggled, slamming her paws into them; managing to get them off her, her breath was rasp; inhaling the scents around her, everything smelt different now; better then what she could smell as a human, the smells... they were intoxicating. The two male wolves grabbed her by the gut with their jaws, dragging her to a hole as they growled. The young female quickly climbed down the hole, stumbling as she lost her footing; becoming a bundle of claws and fur as she rolled down into the darkness, the moon shining down through the hole; hitting a crystal as the light splintered throughout the den.
The two males suddenly let out screams as a green stream of light shot at them and killed them, she looked around; turning to see a bald figure, snake like eyes and a snake like nose. She spoke one word, recognising him immediately.
